The NEET Biology Chapters Worth Over-Preparing

7 min read2 Feb 2026

With 360 of NEET's 720 marks riding on Biology, treating every chapter with equal intensity is a poor use of limited revision time. Some chapters simply appear more often, and in more questions, than others.

Human Physiology (Digestion, Circulation, Excretion, Nervous System) and Genetics & Evolution consistently anchor a large share of the Biology section. These deserve first-pass revision priority and repeated recall practice, not a single read-through.

Ecology and Biotechnology chapters are shorter but yield disproportionately easy, direct-recall marks — ideal for the final week before the exam when your capacity for new conceptual work is lowest.

Don't neglect diagram-based questions from Plant and Animal Kingdom — they're a recurring, low-effort source of marks once you've built visual familiarity with the classification trees.

Build a one-page summary sheet per high-yield chapter during your first revision pass, so your final week is spent reviewing five pages, not five textbooks.
